Learning About Lorelie!

Today we are chatting with Bread Basket member Lorelie Kim. Copy of Etsy 010

Take a moment and learn a little more about Lorelie:

How long have you been stamping, and how did you start?

I've been stamping since 2001. My sister-in-law took me to a Stampin' Up workshop and I was instantly hooked!

How long have you been on the ODBD DT?

I've been on the team since Oct. 2008. I was originally a guest DT! I was fortunate enough to stay on!

How would you describe your "style"?

Hmmm...one word comes to mind and it's "linear". I like symmetry and clean lines. I have a heck of a time tilting anything on my card! I tend to sew on my cards about 99% of the time.

What was the first stamp you ever bought?

It had to be a Stampin' Up set at the first workshop I went to and it must have been some kind of floral set. I love flowers!!

Describe the "weirdest" stamp you have.

I guess it would have to be 3 "eclectic and mystical" frogs playing leap frog! LOL! I got it free from a company who wanted me to design a card for them. I still haven't done it!

What is your favorite medium to work with?

Watercolor markers and most recently, Copics! Although I LOVE working and trying everything. My craft room will attest to that!

What is your favorite technique?

I love paper tole! I always look at a stamp and think "What can I pop out?"

What is your favorite or most used tool? (Other than the basics: adhesive, scissors, etc.)

My Scor-Pal. It truly is a MUST HAVE for cardmakers. It gives you the perfect crease lines!!

What is your favorite ODBD set and why?

My favorite is an upcoming set...LOL! Nice teaser, huh? I don't have a favorite because I use them all in many, many, many projects. I mix and match the images and scriptures all the time.

What inspires you in your stamping?

COLOR! I see color combinations in clothing, magazine ads, nature, etc. and I hit my craft room looking for those colors in my paper stash .

What is one of the top items on your stamping wish list?

It would have to be a Scor-Pal mat for cutting and more Copics.

What is one food you couldn't live without?

Before being diagnosed with diabetes in March my answer would have been chocolate! Now, I would have to say cottage cheese. BUT, it has to be the Daisy brand. No other compares to the taste, in my opinion!

When is the best time of day for you to be creative?

Lately, it's been between the hours of 10pm and 5am! It's the caffeine...stirs up the creative mojo!

Anything you'd like to tell about yourself or stamping that I haven't asked?

I love to scrapbook, too! I fell into scrapbooking before stamping when my oldest was born. I haven't done much in over a year, but hopefully I can play catch-up soon. I just want my sons to have something they can flip through when they have families of their own and read my words about them growing up and know how much I cherished each moment with them!

Lorelie is our wonderful Blog and Product Review Coordinator (among many other things!) and we love her to death!
