Happy Monday, everyone!! Hope you had a blessed weekend!! Back in July, I was excited to announce the new and amazing 3D Pre-cut Flower Kits which had just been added to the Our Daily Bread designs online store. At that time, in the middle of summer, you may not have noticed the two holiday 3D sets available as well, so I will give you a closer look today!
If you are looking for "something different" to help you create those holiday cards, gifts, or decorations, look no further....these 3D Pre-cut kits are perfect. At this time, there are three holiday kits available....each kit has two projects. The candle and lantern finished projects measure 5-3/4" x 3-3/4", the nativity scene measures 5" x 3", and the Mary & Baby Jesus panel measures 3" x 4-1/8". There is also a metallic kit on the 3D Die-Cut page.
The pieces in each kit are die-cut....just pop them out and pop them up with foam tape or foam dots! Each piece is numbered, so that you know the order to adhere them. How you assemble the pieces is your choice.....start with the large layer and add one piece at a time, or start at the highest number (usually the smallest pieces) and assemble each 3D piece before adhering to the main panel.
Here is a closer view of the kit I chose to work with....I fell in love with the vintage look and rich colors of red and brown.
Here is my finished sample. Please note that if you are using one of the kits which has a space for a stamped sentiment or scripture, make sure you stamp first before adding your 3D layers. I usually use a Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner in order to stamp the words straight, however, I didn't think about this before I added the 3D layers and had to stamp "freestyle"! Hopefully, my trial and error will be helpful to you! Some other elements used for this card are: "Blessed Christmas" stamp set, Zva Creative Pearls, Damask Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, May Arts Crocheted lace, tied with a Bow Easy, and several layers of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist for a sparkly finish.
Here is one close-up shot in which the 3D layers are a bit more visible.
There is a total of four layers on this bottom section. The 3D affect is amazing to see in person!
For a closer look on how to add the layers with foam adhesive, please visit my previous Product Review on the 3-d Pre-cut Flower Sets. Do not be intimidated....they are very easy to put together....the only tricky part is placing the smaller pieces where you want them, but a pair of tweezers will help greatly.
