Introducing....The Our Daily Bread designs Forum!
Hello, everyone! Today we would like to share some special news about a new venture for Our Daily Bread designs! Some of you may already be familiar with Christian Paper Crafts, a community forum site which was founded by sister-in-Christ, Cindy Coutts, a few years ago, to give Christian ladies a fun place to fellowship, learn about Jesus, plus share the love of paper-crafting. Our Daily Bread designs has recently purchased the site, which is now called the "Our Daily Bread designs Forum"!
Now that most of the transition has taken place (and the bugs worked out!), we would love to invite our loyal customers, supporters, and friends to join us at the new Our Daily Bread designs Forum. Since the inception of Our Daily Bread designs, we have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know all of you through the blog hops, challenges, at Splitcoasrstampers and even in person at many of the stamps shows we have attended. This new forum gives yet another chance for us to chat and get to know you better.
So, what is the Our Daily Bread designs Forum all about? Here is Kelley's "Welcome Message" which you will see on the home page of the forum:
"I would like to welcome you to the Our Daily Bread Designs Forum! We strive to obey Jesus Christ by sharing His gospel with those who are lost and those who may have strayed from the faith by strengthening, encouraging, and making bold the body of Christ to share the message of salvation with others through paper crafting. Everything we do here will be used to glorify God. You will have fun here and learn the Word of God. Come on in and join us!"
Below are a few features of the Forum, of which I will give brief explanations as I go along:
First I will start with "What's Happening at Our Daily Bread designs?" In this section, you will find conversations about the latest Blog Hops, promotions, product reviews, special sales, blog challenges, and so on.
"The Word for Today" section includes powerful and insightful devotionals by Marcelle Schauer, a section for Bible discussions and general questions, and the Verse of the Day posted faithfully by Jonia Smith. There is a thread for Prayer Requests and a place to share praises with each other as well!
If you are looking for the "meat" in God's Word, Natalie Houston's "Book of John" bible study is in depth, full of wisdom, and something you don't want to miss. All of the previous posts are archived, so you can start at the beginning and study at your own pace. Not only are Natalie's lessons fantastic, but you will learn from the other members' comments as well.
If you're in the mood to "hang out" and chat with the Design Teams, Challenge Hostesses, or other members, here is the place to be! Each day there is a "What are you doing today?" thread, a fun "Question of the Day", and any other general chat topics. Share your favorite recipes, wish someone Happy Birthday, anything "chatty" is good! You will also find the "Introduce Yourself" section here, so that you can meet the welcome wagon! We can't wait to meet you!!!
Most people are drawn to Our Daily Bread designs because of the Christian-based rubber stamps.....what better way to bless someone than with a card or gift which includes God's Word?! So, not only is the new forum a great place to learn about Jesus, but there is lots of fun paper-crafting going on as well! There is something here for everbody! In the "Everything Paper" section, you will find information on the following: card-making basics, cardstock, Copics and other markers, tools and gadgets, Cricut tips, orginization tips, share your craftroom, Spellbinder dies, tutorials, technique tips, ATC's (Artist Trading Cards), Scrapbooking tips, and much more!
A lot of you play in our Blog Challenges each month......if you have a love for challenges, we have lots of challenges here on the Forum as well. Mostly these challenges are just for fun.....to help stretch your creativity, however, occasionally, there will be special prizes for participation. There are both Stamping and Scrapbooking challenges here for you to check out......combos are welcome, by the way! The challenges rotate through the month, but each section explains the schedule. Also in this section you will find the Journaling Challenge by Patter Cross. Her "Faith Journaling" suggestions are very helpful and inspiring.
At the bottom of the main forum page is the "Site News" section, which you may want to check out first thing after becoming a member. Here is where you will find some general guidelines for all members to follow, plus helpful tips and "how-to's" for new members, for example, how to add an avatar photo or signature line to your profile, tips for uploading to the ODBD gallery, how to create one word links, and so on. If there is a question for which you do not find the answer right away, please feel free to post a question there and one of the hostesses will be glad to help.
So, you are probably wondering....."How do I become a member?" To ensure the privacy of your information and to prevent spam within the site, there will be a $10 per year membership fee, however, once you sign up, you will receive a credit for $10 to spend in the Our Daily Bread designs store. Though the Bible Study, Devotionals, and Verse of the Day are visible to the public, one must sign in to be able to comment or to see the rest of the forum. Many members were concerned in the past regarding the private information of prayer requests, etc. This small membership fee eliminates this concern, since only members will be able to see those threads.
To sign up as a member, click on the "Become A Member" link in the top right section of the tool bar. This will take you to the subscription page.
Choose the subscription of $10, then click "Sign Me Up". This will take you to the payment section, where you may pay via Paypal instant payment or credit card.
Once you've completed the payment information, click on "Return to Our Daily Bread designs".....this will take you back to the registration page at the forum so that you may complete your membership.
When you return the registration page, you will need to enter your "User name".....this will be your log-in name plus the name which shows above your avatar photo. If your name has not been taken, you could choose that, or you could choose something unique. You will also be asked to choose a password, which you will need each time you sign in to the forum. An email address is also necessary, should any member or site administrator need to send you a private message.
Once your membership is complete, you will sign in at the top of the page with your User Name and Password.....yay, you're in!!!! Welcome!!!
Once you are signed in, the tool bar will show more options for you. "Quick Links" will show you the latest postings in the active threads, "User CP" is where you can edit your profile, add a photo, etc., "New Posts" will show you the most current comments, the "Forum" tab will take you to the "Main Forum" from which the clips above were taken, and so on.
We are so excited that the new forum is up and running! We can't wait to "hang out" with you! There are so many wonderful members just waiting to get to know you! I myself am blessed each and every day by the friendships I have made there. I can't wait to see you there as well!
Now, to make this new venture even more exciting, Kelley has generously offered a $15 Gift Certificate to four random commenters at the ODBD Forum beginning today, Monday December 5th, and ending Monday December 12th at midnight EST. How cool is that?!
See you all at the ODBD forum! God bless!!
