Happy New Year!!!! As one year ends and another begins, we look back and are grateful for all of God's blessings, and look to the future with hope and excitement of what blessings are to come! The word "new" brings to mind the wonderful scriptures from Lamentations 3:22-23:
"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." Thank you, thank you, Lord!!
Not only do we have a brand new year to look forward to, but it is also the beginning of a brand new month, which means......new stamps from Our Daily Bread designs! With each month's new release, there are more opportunities to reach someone with God's Word and His principles through the cards and gifts created with your own hands! No matter how simple, or how "involved", a hand-made card or gift can be such a shining light in someone's life!
First up this month is a powerful set, "Never Give Up", which includes the awesome scripture verse from Philippians 3:12, two inspirational quotes, and the fabulous cross image designed around today's popular t-shirt images you might see in a Christian book store. This set is all about finding strength and hope through our Lord, Jesus Christ! Personally, I am hoping to inspire my younger siblings with the cool, grungy style of this set, with Jesus as the real focus!
This "Grunge Cross" image coordinates perfectly with the "Never Give Up" set. Layer this single cross over the swirly image above for a 3d look; use it alone for a more "clean" look; or stamp it as a subtle background and "overstamp" a verse on top. If you have shrink plastic sheets, such as Poly-shrink or Shrinky-dinks, you could also create your own plastic charms or jewelry pieces. Use your imagination and the possibilities will be endless!
If you aren't a fan of tedious and time-consuming "fussy cutting", how about a custom die to cut out the gorgeous cross for you?! Stamp the Grunge Cross image and cut it out within a minute's time using the "Grunge Cross Die". If you haven't used our custom dies before, please watch the quick video tutorial HERE.
Can't get enough of the Grunge Cross look? Create a cool background for your projects using the "Grunge Cross Background" stamp! Many different looks can be achieved with this one stamp......distress the edges and add sponging for an extra grungy look, stamp it onto designer paper for a collage look, or use it for a subtle background.
Continuing the "grunge" theme, our next set is "God's Love". The scripture and quote included in this set are beautiful and powerful, and the swirly butterfly image is stunning.....this set will be another ODBD fave for sure!
In the stamping world, there is no such thing as too many butterfly images, do you agree?! Whether you are a fan of coloring or not, this "2-Step Butterfly" set is for you! Not only does this set coordinate with the "God's Love" set perfectly, but the gorgeous Swallowtail butterfly can be used on its own as well, for cards, layouts, altered items, jewelry making, and more! Use the solid stamp first, then layer the detail stamp over it.....for perfect layering, a Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner is suggested. If you like to color, simply stamp the detail image and have fun with your markers, pencils, paper piecing, etc.!
Great news!!! There is a custom die for the 2-Step Butterflies as well!!!! Cut out your butterflies with precision with the "Butterfly 2 Die"! Use the placement guide included to line up the cutting die perfectly over the stamped image. Not only do the custom dies save precious time, but you achieve such a professional look with the finished edges!
Following the same grungy butterfly theme is the new "Grunge Butterfly Background" stamp! Once again, there are many wonderful ways to use the background stamps to create whatever style you wish. Since most of ODBD's background stamps are A2 size, some stampers may have trouble using the large acrylic blocks needed to hold the large stamps.....if this is the case, check out the Mega-Mount stamping block, which has a curved surface for better stamped images, plus has a nifty handle which makes stamping much easier.
Next up is the latest addition to the Garden Collection...this is the "Bleeding Heart" set! Bleeding Hearts have always been a sentimental favorite of mine and I'm sure there are lots of sweet memories for many of you as well. As do the other Garden Collection stamps, this beautiful "Bleeding Heart" image (and name stamp) coordinates with the "Seed Packet" set. (Love!)
Though I am in love with this month's grunge stamps and the Bleeding Heart, personally, I am super excited to have a brand new birthday set as well.....here is "Birthday Blessings"! Of course, the set was designed to be versatile, as most ODBD sets are, so not only will it be used for many birthday cards, but the scripture verses and gorgeous teacup bouquet image will be used for many other occasions as well!
Coordinating with "Birthday Blessings" is another beautiful set, "Special Blend"! I love the lacy eyelet border frame which matches the teacup image above, plus the scripture verse and lovely sentiments are so heart-warming! I am sure that I will be wearing out these two stamp sets!!
We hope you are as excited about these new sets as we are! If you are having trouble deciding which is your fave, let us help you out.......save 20% when you purchase the entire new release, called the "Bread Basket Bundle"!
