August 1 Rease Blog Hop!!!

Hello friends!

Welcome to the August Release Blog Hop!  I hope you've had a chance to view the full release.  If not, just scroll down one post to see it all.  This month we are so excited because not only do we love these sets, but we see the many possibilities for how these sets could be used!  Everyone loves to enclose a little extra gift with a card... and book marks are the perfect fit for that!  Think beyond that though... think of teacher gifts, Sunday School class gifts, women's Bible Study gifts... or how about quick crafts to make with the youth or the seniors in your church?  How about bundling up a few with twine and a little tag to sell at your local craft fair?  Oh and how about just adding one to a card.... that can be removed and serve as a gift in itself!  And... just when you think I have given you all the possible ideas.... the DT is going to show you even more amazing things to do with bookmark stamps!!!   OK.... so I'm bubbling here... but I am excited about these bookmarks, and I think there has been a big need for them in the stamping world!  Combined with the fantastic dies, this month's release is a BIG HIT with the design team!  So grab a cuppa and enjoy!

Here are the basics of the Hop:

  • Hop will run 8:00am Aug. 1 to  8:00pm EDT Aug. 2
  • Winners will be announced Aug 3
  • There will be SIX prizes of your choice of one set!!!
  • Hop to each link and leave a comment, then return here to tell us you completed the hop, and answer the question below.
  • Check back here on Aug. 3 to see if YOU are one of the winners! You never know what other fun things we might have for you that day!!!

Now, here is the order for the hop:
Grace
Becca
Sabrina
Angie
Chris
Sandee
Julie
Debi
Connie
Lori
Dawn
ODBD

The question to answer here after you complete the hop is:  What's your favorite book, or which one has had the biggest impact on your life?  If you're not a reader, then perhaps you'd share who you would love to give one of these hand crafted bookmarks to.

I am currently reading "As and it is Given" a book that everyone should read.
As I struggle with many changes in my life, including loosing my job at 50 this has been a great comfort to me.
Thank you for this wonderful blog hop.
Hoping to get these sets and make bookmarks for the members of my church who have been my "rock" the last two years. Without the path that led me back to my church life I don't know where I would be right now, They are more of a family to me than my family has been.
Loving your stamps and so glad that the Local Scrapbook store - All Scrapped Up in Vermont - is now carrying your stamps on a order basis,
Prayers, Deb

What a fabulous release, just finished looking at all the beautiful projects the ladies made.
My favorite book is Charles Spurgeon, "The book of Job" this book helped me to see the blessing in suffering and that God is absolutely sovereign.

What an inspiring blog hop! I stopped at each blog. I just ordered the stamps, verses and dies (you're all SO enabling!!)

I've loved to read all my life - so I guess the next book I plan to read is my favorite!

I always use book marks and also want to make some for my church that the minister will give out for birtdays.

Penny said...

I hopped to all the blogs. Next stop is the order form. Thanks for all the inspiration!

I've had to cut down on my blogging time so much but I try hard not to miss the ODBD releases. You ladies never disappoint with your wonderful & beautiful creations. I'm not a big reader, but I agree, these sets would be fantastic for making little SS class & Ladies Bible Study group gifts.

first thanks for the hop. I couldn't connect to the last one for some reason - tried many times.

My favorite book was the "Daniel" Bible Study by Beth Moore - all though I loved "Esther" as well.

Great release. Just completed the hop. Could not comment on Dawn's blog as a malaware was being detected. My favorite book is BEYOND HEARTACHE by Margaret Jhonson. I read it thrice & wouldn't mind reading it again.

I am so excited to see all of the new releases and my next stop is to order! I love to read all the time, so it's hard to say which book is my favorite...but I have to go with Pay it Forward because I think it's such an inspirational book to read to make us all realize that no matter how down we are that we can always help someone who is struggling more than we are!

AMAZING Hop Ladies!!!!! Now for my favorite book---I would have to say--"Heaven Is For Real" at this time in my life. I love this release! I have been growing in my spiritual life and am glad to see some stamps that I want in my collection! Thanks for the inspiration. My book that I love....I guess it is fiction, but I have enjoyed them so much and it is the books "Love Comes Softly" series by Janet Oke

Loved the hop. I am a reader and like many favorites. I gave my niece "Jesus Calling" by Sarah Young; a daily devotional. But am about to give and would give to everyone, The Peoples Bible by Northwest Publishing House. It's like the best kept secret of all. First it's a Bible, but then a commentary is given to really explain. I'm actually getting ready to order the complete set for myself (we had the set at our old church), as I homeschool and my son will start to read the NIrV version of the Bible this year.

Ann said...

This was a blast! Everyone's favorite book ~ THE BIBLE! I would definitely make this bookmark for my friend Cherylann. She has a birthday coming in September so I would do her card and a bookmark to match!!!
Thanks for this fun bloghop and a chance to win these great stamps!!

I haven't read in a long time, so I couldn't tell you a favorite book or that one impacted my life at all. So, I guess I would have to say I'd give one of these bookmarks to my mother-in-law who loves to read. I'd love to give one to my mom, but she doesn't read. Great blog hop!

OMG, if I could talk to Deb Fagnant I'd be in heaven! I've lost my job at 55 and am finally learning my "family of origin" is not there for me. Well, I'm finally admitting it! Just wow! But I digress! I plan to send some nieces off to college this fall/summer/soon with a little gift -- good book and good bookmark! The hop was wonderful, lots of beautiful work and great ideas - only once before have I been forced to buy the bundle, this makes two. Thanks Grace and Kelly and the gang for everything. I am just feeling so uplifted right now I can't tell you!

Bette S said...

Thank you for some beautiful, awesome creations and the stamps are really the highlight of each of them. I don't read as much as I used to due to floaters in my eyes, but I do try to keep up with "Guideposts". I am anxious to get these stamps and make something for our Lord's Portion Sale at church. Really, really neat stamps!

Jackie Alexander said...

I really enjoyed all the cards and bookmarks in this blog. My favorite book is THE SHACK.

Christine said...

What a hard question!!! I teach reading and my students comment that I have lots of favorite books. For children, I love the book Number the Stars. In Christian fiction, it is either the O'Malley series by Dee Henderson or the Baxter family series by Karen Kingsworthy. Most of all I love and need the living Word of God.

Thank you for a lovely hop.....great scriptures, wonderful talent, and lots of fun!

Two of my favorite books are Secret Garden and Little Princess. That probably sounds strange coming from an adult, but I have read them several times, even as an adult.

When I first saw that most of the new releases were bookmarks, I was disappointed. Now, after looking at all the blogs, I realize what a wonderful release this is. I am also answering the second question as well, because after seeing all the beautiful creations, I'm thinking that I want to make a bunch of cards with bookmarks/tags, for the nursing home to give to residents who either need a lift, or don't get visitors. I volunteered there for years when I had more time, and it was probably the best thing I ever did. Now I can go up there every once in a while and ask who needs a visitor, and I can visit a few residents and give them a gift at the same time!

This is the first ODBD blog hop I have done. I have really enjoyed this blog hop. My favorite book would have to be the book of John in the Bible. Definatley a great read!

Beth E. said...

Well, I made it to the end of the hop! Now for the really HARD part, coming up with my answer to your question...After pondering the whole time I was "hopping" I decided that even if it does seem obvious and perhaps even mundane, I will say that my favorite book if all time is The Holy Bible. It is always a comfort when I am sad, a teacher when I am in need of being educated, a reminder of all that is good and an inspiration to live a more Godly life here on earth so that I may join Our Lord Jesus in Heaven when I pass from this world into the next.

I have just finished the hop and was blown away by these talented ladies and their creations.

I can't say I have a favorite book - my motto is 'so many books, so little time.' I would love to make a bookmark for each of the ladies in my book club.

This is a great release. I will be saving my money for my next trip south when I will be ordering a few of the new items.

Marlena M. said...

Favorite book~the BIBLE. I would give a bookmark to my mom who just retired from 20 years as a librarian. She LOVES TO READ. ;) Thank you, ODBD for a fabulous hop!

Rachel Brooks said...

Wow! What a hop! I had to make copies of many of the ideas for my files. Already have ordered the dies and some of the stamps. Your team is so creative. They give me so many ideas and help move me along with trying new things. The book that's most influenced my life recently is Gary Smalley's Love is a Decision. Will make mySELF some bookmarks (and probably laminate them) and get some ready for gifts. Thank you for this wonderful blog!

Kay Long said...

I have visited each blog and enjoyed all the beautiful bookmarks, stamps and dies oh my! Thank you, so much for all the generosity. Of course my favorite book is the bible which we never exhaust. Thank you ODBD, for all your wonderful inspirational stamps.

Shirley said...

Enjoyed all the bookmarks on the blogs this morning. Thanks for putting it together. My favorite book is Out of Africa.

Conniecrafter said...

Oh I so enjoyed the hop, such great inspiration and can't wait until I can get these stamps and dies.
Well the one author that is on my mind at the time is Maeve Binchy, I was watching the news last night and found out she has died at the age of 72, I started reading her books when we lived in England and so enjoyed them, I think my favorite of them is Tara Road, but I just love her writing style.

Caryn S said...

I loved every bit of this hop, but I say that every month. ODBD always features the most creative DT! My goodness, you have stumped me with this question! I LOVE books, and I have read so many. I can say that one of my favorite authors is C.S. Lewis. I'd read anything he's ever written. Probably my favorite by him is the Screwtape Letters. We never think about all of those little things and just the general "lukewarmness" that can befall anyone as separating us from God, everyone seems to think only of the great sins. But the greatest sins can actually be the catalyst to forming a closer relationship with God. Complacency can be a huge downfall, and we need to guard against it.

Lynn Rowe said...

Just finish the blog hop such beautiful cards and designs. All these cards give me great inspiration to use my Spellbinders and now I see me purchasing more of the stamp sets and die combos. I am not sure just what my favourite book is. So I think I would make a bookmark for a close friend her passes on all her favourite books for me to read.

Stella said...

I love the hops, every card is so beautiful.

KVencel said...

Thank you for these wonderful designs! I finished the hop except for Dawn (kept getting a malware notice so I couldn't see her design). The book that made the biggest difference in my life would have to be the Bible. How could it not? Thank you ODBD. I would love to use these designs for gifts for my friends.

TLady said...

OF COURSE The Bible is the book that has influenced my life THE MOST! AND everyday has meat for my soul! AND changes me from the inside out, bringing LIFE!!!!!!!!Aside from the Bible, I look for books that are "of good report!" Books that will leave me feeling good about myself! My second choice would be Jane Austens all time CLASSICS!I even try decorating my home in English Country! AND try to give our life a little elegance by having "tea" most every day! I know people are "updating" them but, I like the OLD ONES! They make me LOVE OLD "THINGS" TOO! :)

Stella said...

The book that I truly love and recommend that everyone read is "Safely Home" by Randy Alcorn. It shows me how Christians in other countries really suffer for their faith.

Many thanks to the design team for all the inspiring artwork! You ladies amaze! These ODBD blog hops are getting to be a welcome habit for me. This month's bookmark stamp sets are stunning! As for my favorite books... so many out there it is hard to choose, but I know I enjoyed Lee Strobel's "The Case For Christ" and also Frank McCourt's "Angela's Ashes" with his sequels "Teacher Man" and "'Tis".

Lved the hop and all the wonderful creations. The Bible, of course has been my most infulential book. However there were books written by a Dr Thomas Dooley who was first a Navy docter then a missonary doctor in Vietnam during the 1950's. One was called "Before I sleep" It was his books that partially influended me to join the US Army after nursing school and volunteer to serve in Vietnam.

Enjoyed the hop many beautiful projects! Would enjoy giving bookmarks to just about everyone!

I was unable to leave a comment on Dawn's blog as my antivirus software did not allow me to go there. I loved this hop and it's the first time I have participated. I love Christian books of all kinds but the one book that shook my world when I read it was The Shack. I know there is a lot of controversy about this book, but it helped to open my eyes to a God who we can not put in a box and still call Him the God of the universe who is still on the throne! Room of Marvels is another book that helped me when God was doing some restoration and healing work in my live.

My favorite book, really there are so many it's hard to pick. I love reading Debbie MacComber, I've also meet her 3 different times at book signings, her books are ALL wonderful, with true life experiences, humor and thought provoking. She is a wonderful person to meet, very funny too. So if you have a chance to pick up one of her books, by all means read one, then meet her at a book signing. Check out her knitting donation too!!!

I love this bloghop and all the beautiful creations I have seen as I passed through each of them. This release is one of my favorites.

My favorite books are those found in The Everyday Life Bible published by Faith Words and with commentary and notes by Joyce Meyer and has had the biggest impact on my life. My children's father passed away this year, I was divorced from my second husband last July 2011, (I am now single again) and I lost a cousin in September 2011 and through it all this Bible has been a great comfort to me. I know those who have left this life have a much more beautiful life and are waiting to welcome me home.

Well that was fun, lots of gorgeous DT pieces, as always!

Okay, aside from the Bible, I would say that the Little House series influenced me greatly--instilled a joy of reading, made me feel like I could pretty much do anything (as long as I have directions), and they held fast to a real sense of right and wrong, but in a true-to-life way.

This was an awesome blog hop. My next stop is to order the monthly bundle. This is something that I have really wanted for a long time. I have read many books over the years. The one that has impacted me recently has been The Help. One of the main characters in the book, although her life was not easy, did not give up and did not lose faith in God. And she wrote down her prayers everyday and prayed them.

Pattie J. said...

Going to try and finish the hop, I got as far as Debi, and then could not connect with anything body else. for some reason Firefox wouldn't connect to the blog.
this was such an inspiring idea, to introduce these fantastic dies. I love to make bookmarks, and with sending so much overseas, they would be a wonderful gift and blessing with the words of God. Psalms, inspire me everyday, the UpMost for the Highest by Oswald Chambers, for a daily Bible reading before study. He seems to hit me right where I need to go for my study that day. Other enjoyment Agatha Cristie, mysteries, and the Jane Austin Books. But for my most inspiration and lifes lessons and blessings, God's Word above all, is the greatest.......God bless You all....hugs

This is my first Blog Hop and I had a "blast" leaving comments and most of all, seeing all the beautiful designs using your new stamps and dies!

My favorite book is, of course, the Bible, and it has had the biggest impact on my life. However, I'm an avid reader and it would be difficult for me to name another favorite among all the books in my library.

I'm seriously thinking about including a bookmark in each card I make from now on as they make such memorable "small gifts" and are so useful!

I love this release, and all the DT inspiration is so amazing! Reading is a favorite pastime of mine...I love the Bible. For other books, I have to say Little Women was the first one that transported me and is still a favorite. I can think of so many uses for these bookmarks...a gift for the women in my prayer group is the first thought.

This has been one of the best blog hops - congratulations to all you for creating and sharing such beautiful cards and bookmarks. Of course, you had awesome stamps and dies to work with this month!

I read several books each week, however, I always find myself re-reading "The Prayer ofJabez" by Bruce Wilkinson (well, in addition to the Bible). Such a powerful prayer and one that challenges me each day.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,
"Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory,
that Your hand would be with me,
and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!"
So God granted him what he requested.
1 Chronicles 4:10 (NKJV)

Thanks again, Ladies, for your creations.

I believe I managed to post on every blog, and every one did a fabulous job...so much inspiration.

To answer the question who would you love to give one of the beautiful bookmarks to...The answer would be my Mother...she was a reader all her life, and passed many of her wonderful books on to me. Unfortunately, since I lost her to cancer two years ago...I can't do that, but I will instead make one for her best friend...a very long time friend of hers.

and to answer the other question. Which book has had the biggest impact on your life? There are several, but two books came to mind right away. They are books I read a long time ago, but books I reread. The Hiding Place, Written about Corrie Ten Boom's life, I was going through a very difficult time in life when I first read that book...and reading about what she went through helped me get through mine. The same goes for when I read Helen Keller's autobiography, "The story of My Life."

Completed the hop and oh my what awesome creations. Love the new stamp sets and dies.
As for reading, the Bible is the best book I have ever read and has te most impact on my life. Another book I read a long time ago was
The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom, and also saw the movie. What a testimony of faith.

What an amazing blog hop! Every single one of the cards and book marks were so beautiful...and so inspiring! I LOVE LOVE LOVE to read and I read as much as I can. I have so man favorites, but right now, I am reading A Matter of Life & Death by Rosemary Altea. This book has remarkable true stories of hope and healing. It is very uplifting and proves that there are angels who watch over us every day. As for the bookmarks, I would first make myself several... :-) but give many away to most of my friends, because "who doesn't love to read?" Thanks for the beauty and inspiration of this latest release. ! :-)

What a fun and inspirational blog hop. Thanks for sharing all the wonderful projects. Loved them all. I read so many books each week, but my current read is "Does this clutter make my butt look fat" dealing with clutter not only in your home, but in your life.(By Peter Walsh). As a result, not only is my house being decluttered, but I'm getting back on track with my life and putting things back in prespective.

Very inspirational hop! The designers have created some awesome cards and bookmarks with the new release! The book that has had the biggest impact on my life is the Bible. Jan Karon's Mitford books and the Christmas in My Heart books edited by Joe Wheeler are some of my many other favorites.

I just finished the blog hop, and I really enjoyed looking at and admiring all the beautiful art work from ODBD's design team. When I first saw the August release, it didn't interest me. I did not have a clue as to what I could do with the bookmarks. WELL, after doing the blog hop, I am inspired. ODBD has the greatest design team. So talented. The blog hop gave me a lot of ideas. Thanks design team.

My favorite book is the Bible. It is the book I try and pattern my life by. Recently we did a bible study on Revelation. It really opened my eyes.

I have finished my first ever ODBD blog hop. It was so worth it. Of course, I want 'em all.
Reading is in the profile on my blog and at 63...well it goes without saying, I've done a great deal, so I'll just say that my fave this year was Heaven by Randy Alcorn. This well-researched and eloquently written book helped me to understand heaven in a new light. I so needed this as I lost my husband this past January. His book truly blessed me.

If it would not be too much trouble, could we get a list of all the hopper's (sp?) fave books? I think this would be so inspiring and helpful. I have noticed that quite often, stampers are also avid readers.
Thank you.

Wow what a wonderful hop! thanks so much for the inspiration. being a "book" person I have too many favourites to pick just one! but the one that has biggest impact on my life would have to be the wonderful word of God (the Bible) God has taught me so much through his word.

Hi - I have been to all the blogs but Dawn's, as there was a Google warning that it possibly had mal-ware on it, and not to proceed.:-(

The book that has influenced me the most - the Bible - it is the only book I have read more than twice, and it is always revealing new truths to me, encouraging and guiding me and brings me Peace.

Blessings

I finished the blog hop. I started yesterday and then had to stop but was able to finish it this AM. Lovely projects! I loved them all. I am an avid reader so this month's stamps are especially appealing to me. Thanks to all involved in the whole process of bringing these items to us. Thanks also to all of the lovely ladies who share their talent with us so freely!

I just finished the hop (I'll be late to work because I just couldn't stop!) Beautiful inspirations. I love to read and these bookmarks will be very handy. This have given me the inspiration to create bookmarks for my son's youth group. Always nice to have something special to mark that special passage in your bible... Thank you!

Great new products and a lovely blog hop thank you! I had no problems commenting. It is difficult to pick a favourite book. I have been enjoying the Yada Yada Prayer Group series. It is about a large group of Christian women from many backgrounds and there is always plenty to learn from their stuggles and joys. I also LOVED "The Help" by Kathryn Stokett which is a movie too. It is a fun and interesting read.

I just finished reading "the grace awakening" by chuck swindoll. I understand it has been around for a while, but recently updated. Swindoll always has great humor along with his reliance upon the word to teach principles in a understandable way. I love his stories and the fact he is real.

This was a fantastic blog. I loved all the awsome creationa. My favorite book is "What happens when women pray". It helped me thdu a tough time in my life when my husband went thru an addiction to alohol. It made me realize how much resposbility and power we have to pray for our families. Its an awsome book by Evelyn Christenson that will charge you up.
I loved all the soft colors of nature that were used.

Wow! What a fabulous blog hop with new stamps and dies!!!! Love, love, love them all...there goes my budget...

Since starting to stamp last year I haven't picked up one book! I am absolutely addicted to this wonderful new craft and am already planning for the future and how I can incorporate more stamping and creating into my daily life. While I have not read any regular book in the past year, the book that I always read is the Bible. It contains all I need for whatever the situation is.

Thanks for creating and providing such inspirational stamps! They are absolutely wonderful and I love them dearly.

This is the first time I have participated in the blog hop!! I finished and I must say I was inspired all along the way!! I'm not much of a reader, although I gather a lot of strength from the time I spend in the Bible. I would love to make a one-of-a-kind bookmark for my brother, who is an avid reader. He has been through a lot the past two years and I think some of the messages in these sets would offer him encouragement. Hey, maybe I'll make him a set of book marks!!

What an amazing blog hop,Ladies! I spent the entire afternoon ooh-ing and aahing over every one of your beautiful projects!

As for my favorite book? Hands down it is the Bible. I read it every night. I have learned such joy and comfort since reading it the first time...more on a dare than anything. But, it showed itself to be true to me. No, He showed Himself to be true to me. I start at the beginning of the Bible and go to the end...whenever that is each year. I don't set lengths that I must read...sometimes a Chapter, sometimes a paragraph, I read until I feel I am done. I have come to love the One who gave us the gift of His Love, His Word and the gift of Salvation. God Bless!
