ODBDSLC121 You Leave Me in Stitches

Thanks to everyone who participated in the "Sketchchallenge last week!! There were so many beautiful creations. We so enjoyed viewing your interpretation of the challenge.

Before going on to our challenge, I would like to thank Linda Lucas for being our guest designer this month.  The month just flew by!!  Your creations were such an inspiration to us all Linda.  Thanks for sharing your love for the Lord and the gift of talent he has bestowed upon you!!

Next month's guest is the talented and sweet Katherine Lawson!!!  Her blog is called Paper Play by Kathi

Here are a few words from Katherine:

I live in Stonington, Maine, on a tiny island, with my husband of almost 42 years. We have a grown son, daughter-in-law, and three young grandchildren who live in Rochester, NY.

I was a SAHM, and taught Sunday school and swimming, sang in the choir, and worked with local charities when my son was younger. When he got older, I became a volunteer at the Nursing Home, and that pretty much consumed my life for quite a few years. It started out as one day a week, but ended up so I was there for three or four hours a day at least five days a week. It was the best thing I have ever done.

About ten years ago, both of our fathers came down with cancer, and right after our fathers passed away, my mother-in-law came down with it. Those events pretty much ended anything I did outside the home, but spending the time with loved ones when they need us most is what really matters. Now my mother is 82, so I spend a lot of time with her. She and I run a small gift shop in the summer, where we sell all types of crafts we have made. Together, we do about any craft you can think of, but for the last few years, my favorite has been making cards. I've always loved working with paper, and we have so many beautiful products available to us now.

When Chris told me I was going to be a guest designer for Our Daily Bread Designs, I couldn't believe it. ODBD is one of the nicest stamp companies in the world. Everyone I've communicated with has been so nice, and I love using their stamps to spread the Lord's word. It seems like so much in our world today is focused on sending the wrong message, especially to our children, so I love seeing a company that only shares goodness.

Congratulations to the winners! The challenge teams designs for this week are also beautiful.

Thank you so much to Chris, Kelley, and everyone else at ODBD for choosing me to be guest designer for September's challenges. I feel so honored! I hope I can do as well as Sherry and Linda did in July and August!

Since I don't see a description for this, when I read "you leave me in stitches" it sounds like a funny card. But in looking at the CT samples, I take it it means use stitching on your creation, real or faux, since the cards are beautiful and not funny. :) Fun, 2 weeks, maybe I can play, if the weeks slow down a bit, they like to fly by it seems!

I just saw my card included in your choices for this week. For me, this is such an honor - to be included with the creators of such lovely cards. Thank you to whomever made the selections. Now I need to think about the new challenge. You always have such lovely inspiration pieces.

Cool and what a blessing to be able to display 2 badges now! It's such an honor. Candace is wonderful and I'm so glad she was chosen at the Customer Card of the Card. Hooray for Candy!
