Time With Sabrina and her lovely flowers!

Hello friends of ODBD!  Today, we are spending some beautiful time with Sabrina, our resident tag specialist, and lover of all things feminine!  She is going to share her thought process as she creates one of her gorgeous tags! Sit back and enjoy!

Hello there, Sabrina here to share a little tutorial with you all. I have gotten some requests to share how I go about adding all of the yummy flowers I like to use on my cards. Well, today is the day that I reveal my secret,LOL.  Go ahead and grab a cup of coffee or tea and sit back and enjoy. I have decided to make a tag and here are the supplies I started out with.

All of my supplies I plan on using in one spot. The shape of the tag was cut with the Grand Labels 4. The two cuts under the stamped sentiment is a recycled cereal box. ;D I simply cut two and glue them together with the printed side facing in. I like to use two to make my tag nice and sturdy.

This is a close up of all of the yummy goodness of flowers I have chosen for my tag. I chose flowers to somewhat match the paper line I am using (Prima Romance Novel).

Right here you can see which flowers I chose to go on the tag. At this stage they are not glued down, they are just laying on top of the tag to give me the basic idea on how I want to have them laid out.

In this photo I have started to glue the leaves and flowers down. I am using a hot glue gun, yes, that is it. You could also use E6000 or Glossy Accent, but those adhesives take time to dry, I am more of an "instant" kind of gal, LOL!   I generally start with the leaves and the largest flower first and work myself out to either side.

This pictures shows the attached lace under the flowers, the flowers and leaves all glued down and a wooden embellishment, matching the paper line. I thought this would add a nice little touch.

Alright, I think this is where I would like the sentiment to be...what do you think?

All done, added an eyelet, threaded the lace through and attached a charm....oh, almost forgot and some pearl string amongst the flowers.

And another shot of the finished tag with all of the yummy flowers.

Recipe:

Paper: recycled cereal box, black card stock, Prima Romance Novel and a scrap piece of Vintage Cream card stock for the sentiment

Ink: VersaFine Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink Tea Dye

Accessories: Spellbinders Grand Labels 4, Fancy Tags Three, lace, Prima burlap leaves, mulberry roses, pearl string, handmade dangle charm, eyelet, wooden embellishment matching the Prima Romance Novel Collection

Well, this is it for me for today! Thank you so very much for spending a little time with me. I hope that my tutorial helped you to add some flowers to your projects. I know some of us have a hard time when it comes to adding a lot, but don't be intimidated, just go for it. Have fun!

Hugs and blessings,
Sabrina
