Meeting Up at CHA

It was so much fun for many of the Design Team to meet up together at CHA (Craft and Hobby Association) in Anaheim January 24-28th.  After talking online and through emails, actually meeting in person was such a pleasure and delight! We had a lot of laughs and a lot of fun!

I thought you might like to see a picture of those from the DT that went:

Much prayers are needed!

The week of January 18-25 is the annual observance of the Week of Christian Unity. The theme for this year is "that they may become one in our hand". Let us all pray that even though we may be of all different faiths, we can still work together to accomplish God's plan.

Today marks the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision.  Please join the nation in praying for our lawmakers to overturn the laws that give mothers the right to kill their unborn children. Pray that they may come to realize that ALL LIFE IS SACRED.

Stacy Morgan...card(s) of the day!

Stacy Morgan has been guest designing for the last 2 months and we have really enjoyed having her over at the Bread Basket, our design team group site!! She is so sweet and always quick to compliment the girls on their cards!

Stacy's style is a very classic, clean, soft and pretty style and I have loved her cards she has created for Our Daily Bread designs. Thank you so much, Stacy!

Interestingly, this card I have chosen for today is a little bit different than Stacy's usual style but I really like it! The bold Really Rust cardstock is so striking against the Basic Grey designer paper!

If you have ever read Stacy's blog, Twinshappy,  or visited her SCS gallery than you would know that Stacy is a master at card gift sets and this is just one of the beautiful sets she has made for a lucky person!

Card of the day...Sita Mahadeo!!!

Sita's husband has safely returned from Afghanistan, such happy news to Sita and her 2 young daughters! Although she is still adjusting to a new schedule with her hubby home, she was still able to create this wonderful card that I love with the Lift Up Our Hands set. I love the layout, the gold paper and how the red paper and ribbon look so great with it! The little Cross of Christ charm even matches her watermark!!!

New Guest Designer...Cindy Motherway!!

Please welcome Cindy Motherway as Guest Designer for January and February! Cindy has a fabulous blog, This is My Story, and a SCS gallery, Mothermark.

Meet Cindy:
Hello fellow stampers!  I am so happy to have been invited to Guest Design for Our Daily Bread Designs for the month of January and Feburary.  What a way to start the new year!!

I am just another addicted stamper living in Loveland, Colorado. My hobbies are stamping, stamping and spending money for stamping. I was introduced to this fun hobby when I attended a party at a friend's house. I ordered one dinky little stamp not because I really wanted it but because it was the right thing to do.  I was thinking "What on earth am I gonna do with this?"

I was one of those people when walking by a stamp store in the mall, I nudged my husband and said... "Look at all those crazy women in there getting all excited about rubber stamps!!" And now I am one of them!  Here I am, years down the road and hopelessly addicted!  Yikes!

I have been married to my husband for 34 years and we have a wonderful 23 year old son!  They both just humor me with my card making and are so wonderfully supportive of my addiction!  They always have a "Oh wow, that card is awesome" statement just ready to roll out of their mouths at any given moment!

Cindy has been very busy making some very cool projects like this little prayer box made with the Lift Up Our Hands set:

Cindy also made this awesome card with the He is Risen! set. I love how she crafted the Crown of Thorns to go with the nail cross!!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Join Us for a Sketch Challenge.........and a Prize!

We are excited to present our first Design Team Challenge of the new year: a Sketch Challenge! And we would love to have you join in! I love how this sketch is so fun and versatile. The square and diamond layers can be interchanged, so that either one is on top - whichever fits better with what you want to do!

Jan ODBDSC01

The Design Team members are all busy working on their projects to show you Monday and Tuesday of this week.  They will be posting to their blogs (see the sidebar on the right) one of those two days for your inspiration. Be sure to check out all of their marvelously inspiring designs!

One of our new products for this month is Shimmerz, a water-based paint that can be applied to many different surfaces. Want to win some Shimmerz? Here is how!

Join us in this sketch challenge using any ODBD stamps as the focal image on your card. Leave a comment on this post with a link to your card. If you are uploading to SCS, please use these two codes (ODBDSC01 and ODBD) so we can find your cards there, too!  As for the sketch, just remember that you can turn it, make it larger or smaller, or flip it – whatever works for your design.

You have until Midnight EST January 23 to join in the challenge for a chance to win! Three winners will be chosen from all entries received (one entry per person).  We are so excited to see what you create. Remember, to see what Design Team members have done with this sketch check out their blogs tomorrow and Tuesday (links are on the right).

Come back January 24 to see our winners!

New Design Team member ...Chris Olsen!!

Chris has joined the Our Daily Bread designs design team and has already been creating gorgeous cards! You can see her SCS gallery, Glowbug,  HERE and new blog, Twinkles Glows with Stamps, HERE.

Meet Chris:
Hi! I am Chris, also known as Glowbug on SCS. I live in Bloomingburg, NY with my supportive and loving husband, Scott, and my two daughters, Nicki, 9, and Meghan, 6.  I have been married for 11 years.  I was an elementary school teacher until my youngest daughter was born.  I have now been blessed with the opportunity to teach my two girls at home.

I have always enjoyed crafts and artwork (embroidery, cross-stitch, ceramics, folk painting, tole painting, etc.) but was introduced to stamping 6 years ago by my sister who is a Stampin' Up Demonstrator.  I have been creating ever since.  I use stamping as a hobby or way to escape.

I am so honored to have been invited by Kelley to become a part of Our Daily Bread designs.  I have been inspired by the wonderfully talented design team and these amazing and inspirational verses.  To combine my faith and my love for stamping is a dream come true.  I hope my designs and faith can in turn inspire others.

I first discovered Chris when I saw this awesome Fruit of the Spirit card:

And now she is  a team member creating beautiful cards like this Lift Up Our Hands card:

I'm back and New Releases!!

It has been quite awhile since I posted!! Rick was off work since the 19th and went back to work Monday.  We were busy with the holidays and getting these 2 new stamp sets ready for the store!

The first set was designed by Dina Kowal, one of the ODBD Design Team members! You can read more about Dina's stamp designs called dkdesigns HERE. The set Dina created is called Lift Up Our Hands. Here, Dina describes the set:

"When we face hardship, it's always a comfort to be assured of the prayers of other brothers and sisters in Christ. Difficult times also remind us how dependent we really need to be on the Lord for help, for mercy, and strength for each day. What a joy to be able to remind others of these truths through the "Lift Up Our Hands" set. The verses and quote point to the privilege and necessity of prayer, and the dependence on the Lord which we express through prayer. The 3 single-line phrases can be used all together, individually, or in combination with each other (ie. "May you feel His hands lifting you up in prayer", "lifting you up in prayer during this difficult time", "May you feel His hands during this difficult time")."

The second set is the first Easter sets that is available.  I called this set  He is Risen because Jesus died for our sins and was raised up on the third day! The image of the nail cross is a reminder of the 4 nails that were used to nail Jesus to the cross.   It makes us so thankful for His sacrifice.

I hope you like these new sets! Thanks for stopping by today!

I want you to be concerned about your next door neighbor.
