An Interview With DT Member Angel Wilde

 Angel_edited-1

Today is an interview with one of our original Design Team members, Angel Wilde.  Angel has a fun blog, Angelosity, and also a gallery at Splitcoaststampers.  We are excited to share a little bit more about her with you today!

How long have you been stamping, and how did you start?
I think it was 1995 when I was invited to my first "stamp party" (Stampin' Up! workshop). I went to be polite to the hostess, but had no intention of buying postage stamps which is what I thought they were selling...LOL
I was hooked from the beginning. I've always loved sending cards. I haven't bought a card in years!

How long have you been on the ODBD DT?
Since it began... one year already!

How would you describe your "style"?
That's a hard question. I don't know. Uncomplicated maybe? What is my style?

What was the first stamp you ever bought?
Stampin' Up!'s Button Bear and I still have him!

Describe the "weirdest" stamp you have.
After looking at my stamps I guess it would have to be my Nebraska Cornhusker mascot...is it Harry or Herbie? I got him to make my dad a card... Go Big Red!

What is your favorite medium to work with?
I am not a big fan of coloring, but when I do I usually use a blender pen and the lids of my ink pads.

What is your favorite technique?
I love the simple elegance of embossing.

What is your favorite or most used tool? (Other than the basics: adhesive, scissors, etc.)
Hands down it's my Cuttlebug! I do think the paper piercing tool is underrated though... such a simple inexpensive tool, but it can add magic to your designs!

What inspires you in your stamping?
Other stampers mostly. I love looking at Splitcoast galleries and stamping blogs!

What is one of the top items on your stamping wish list?
I don't want for very much, but there are many dies and folders for my Cuttlebug I'd love to have! Then there is paper....I love paper!

What is one food you couldn't live without?

CHOCOLATE... I have to have chocolate at some point during the day!
Next is corn.. weird I know, but I LOVE corn anything....popcorn, corn on the cob, corn chips, corn nuggets....anything corn!

Is there a song title that reflects your personality?                                                       There is a song by Martina McBride that reminds me of me... mostly because of my name "Wild Angel"...LOL

Do you have any friends that understand your addiction?  (Other than your stamping friends that live in the computer)
Yes, my friend Tracy I think understands.

Anything you'd like to tell about yourself or stamping that I haven't asked?
My favorite color is Soft Sky! But green seems to be a color I can't stop buying things of...ribbon, paper... Green is running over in my stamp room! Does anyone else have that problem?

I'm so happy to be a part of Our Daily Bread Designs which combines two of my loves.... Jesus and Stamping!

Thank you for sharing your art and heart with us, Angel!

Flashback Friday Favorite ...Light of the World

We are starting a brand new weekly post called Flashback Friday Favorites (FFF) where we'll revisit a classic set.  We know many of you, as well as us, get excited about brand new releases, but we wanted to show you what had been made with the previously released sets that new customers may not realize are available.  We love the classic sets just as much as the new ones!

Our first FFF spotlight set is Light of the World:Lighthouseimage-525x499

Can you guess who made this beauty of a card?  The one and only ODBD owner, Kelley Holland!  Yes, she is a talented stamper, too!  Her passion for stamping and her desire to spread the word of God has evolved into Our Daily Bread designs - a company devoted to His word.

Kelleylighthouse_001 copy

This fabulous blue window card was made by the equally fabulous Amy Sheffer!  The card's construction and understated elegance made the scripture the main focal point and we just loved it!  But then again, there isn't a card from Amy that we don't love!

Amylightoftheworldshadowboxcard1 copy

This gorgeous card is by the ever-talented Dina Kowal (who also lends a hand in designing a few ODBD stamps).  Just look at how she made the water and clouds...breathtaking!  Did you notice the gem at the top that was used as the light?

DinaIMG_7525 copy

Look what Angie Zublionis created!  She stamped the lighthouse on vellum with brown ink and it worked perfectly with the sea shells!!  Although we love seeing cards, it is always a wonderful thing to see projects like this!

We hope you've enjoyed a little trip down Memory Lane with this set.  It will make a wonderful addition to your stamp collection if you don't already have it.

Customer Card of the Day... Sarah Taylor!

It is tremendous fun when we get to play "I Spy" with wonderful stampers who use Our Daily Bread designs stamps.  Just take a look at what we recently found - Sarah Taylor's beautiful card using Lift Up Our Hands !!  Applause!  Applause!

We love how she played off of the colors from the decorative papers and how the praying hands are popped from its background.  Her layers are wonderfully balanced!

Thank you, Sarah, for allowing us to showcase your card!   You can see her other  fabulous creations on her blog,  AUNTBEESPICKLES.  And Sarah - we hope you participate in our current sketch challenge!

The Design Team just loved this month's releases!  Each of the three sets had such a unique style and fantastic verses and sentiments!  I thought today I would show you my favorites for each of the DT members.  It was a really hard choice, because there were so many wonderful cards and projects, but these are the ones I love the most!

We are coming to the close of February, and beginning tomorrow, you will be seeing Sneak Peeks of the new March designs!  I know you will love these as well!
March marks the one-year anniversary for Our Daily Bread designs and we have some FUN things planned for you!  Stay tuned for next Saturday's post and some peeks at all the fun!

Customer Card of the Day - Lisa Suggs!

We are always on the look out for fabulous cards that feature Our Daily Bread designs  stamps and we recently found Lisa Suggs!!!  It is always so wonderful to see cards posted in online galleries using ODBD sets and we think it is a great way to say "thank you" to these stampers by showcasing their card(s) on our blog.

This is one of Lisa's card that caught our attention!  Her use of blues and greens really made the lighthouse image from the Keep My Lamp Burning set stand out.  The flourish scroll, flowers and rub-on stitching added beautiful details.

We love how her cards have a "scrapbook" look to them.  ODBD sets are versatile enough to be used in your scrapbook pages!

The pearl lace trim on this

Lift Up Our Hands  card gives it a beautiful Victorian look and we love how Lisa made the praying hands look like they are clasping the dangling cross.

You can view more of her cards in her SCS gallery,

Divegirl.  Thank you, Lisa, for gracing our blog with your fabulous creations!

Please welcome Guest Designer Holly McMillen!!

Holly McMillen comes to us from the Front Range of Colorado.  Holly's passion for stamping and her beautiful creations caught our eye and we're so glad to have her aboard as a Guest Designer for February and March!

Just look what she has graced us with using the Keep My Lamp Burning set! We loved the warm colors, the layering of the scripture and the added touch of that beautiful cross charm.

Odbd-dare copy

Here is another beauty of a card from Holly using I Am The Way. Notice another gorgeous cross?  Yes, we've definitely inquired about where she got those and who makes them and no, I can't remember her answer off the top of my head.  I'm sure she will be checking in on the blog so if she's reading this she'll post her answer in the comment section!  That's a HINT to spill the beans, Holly!

And finally, take a look at this gift bag using that same set.  The lilies seem to be attracting those delicate popped-up butterflies!  We loved the punched lace trim on top of the bag.

Please give Holly a warm welcome and continue to look for her creations on her blog,  Toy's Haven and browse her Splitcoast Stampers gallery under Toy.
