Flashback Friday Favorites - Peace On Earth

Love, peace and harmony.   Isn't that what we all wish for?  Imagine our world and our generation living that way.  With the release of the set Peace On Earth a year ago it echoed that hope that God wanted for all of us.

Peace-645x451

The image of the fearless lion with the gentle lamb snuggled up to it speaks volumes!  The fluttering dove, the universal symbol of peace,  helped complete this beautiful set and powerful message.

Here are just a few samples showcasing the set's message:

Customer Card of the Day - Linda Riesgraf!

Last week I had an extra set of eyes scoping out wonderful customer creations and those eyes were from fellow Bread Basket gal Angie C (thanks for the help!).  She spotted this beauty from Linda Riesgraf over at Splitcoast and we both said "YOWZA!"

Let_Freedom_Ring_by_Doodledop

Linda won us over with her combination of the In God We Trust and God Bless America sets.  The eagle shines brightly and boldly over the blue background and you can't get more patriotic that the flag behind it all!  The Abraham Lincoln quote went beautifully with her design and the three jumbo eyelets were wonderful finishing touch.  We loved this card because it wasn't the standard A2 or square card, but an elongated one that helped emphasize the beauty of God and country.

Our sincerest thanks, Linda, for creating such gorgeous card!  Please stop by her SCS gallery, Doodledop, and leave her some much deserved love and attention!

Product Review - Spellbinders

Do you know what all the craze is about? It's called Spellbinders and it is a MUST HAVE for every crafter! They are a touted as a triple threat when it comes to your projects - they cut, they dry emboss and you can use them as a stencil! We like to think of them as a quadruple threat because you can mix and match them to create eye-catching results and we'll show you how!

Here's what you'll need:

- Wizard machine and accessories (two white master mats, one magnetic

spacer mat, one tan emboss pad, one universal cut mat are all included

in the package)

- Spellbinders dies (shown are Labels One and Labels Four)

- Coordinating cardstocks and papers

Create your sandwich as shown: white master mat, magnetic spacer mat, Spellbinder die, cardstock and 2nd white master mat. You will want to label one of the white master mats with "Cut Plate" if you'll be embossing foils. This will keep the other mat free from cut marks, ensuring clean embossing on your delicate project.

With the Spellbinder logo away from you and the handle towards you, run the sandwich through by cranking the handle back and forth. There you have it - a perfect die cut. If you run the sanwhich with the Wizard facing the other way that sandwich will shoot right out and probably put a dent in your wall because it's that powerful!

Remove the top white master plate and carefully remove the magnetic spacer pad. Try to keep the cardstock securely on the die. Place the tan embossing mat over the die and cardstock. Put the white master plate on top of that to make your sandwich again. Run through the Wizard as above. You'll end up with an crisp and clean dry embossed die cut!

Now let's stencil! After cutting and embossing, turn the die over with the cardstock still in place. Hold down while sponging ink in a circular motion all around, keeping a gentle pressure on the sponge to prevent harsh mark ups.

Layer your die cuts any which way your heart desires and finish your card:

Completed card features Keep My Lamp Burning and Light of the World stamp sets, Prismatic Teal Pack, Simply Smoothwhite cardstock, Dew Drops Water, Canson Arches Travel Pad watercolor paper and K & Company Wild Raspberry pad.

(Labels Four set)

(Labels One set)

(Labels Three, Small Octagon and Small Scalloped Octagon sets)

(Foliage Frame set)

(Classic Frame set)

(Labels Three set)

(Labels Three and Grand 12" Classic Lace Border)

Pick up a Wizard machine and a few die cut sets and you'll be adding fabulous pizazz in a jiffy!

Jane Is In The Hot Seat Today!

Today we have put Bread Basket member Jane Wetzel in the Hot Seat to answer some questions about herself and share a little bit about her stamping style:
Just_me_1_
How long have you been stamping, and how did
you start?
I can't remember how long I have been stamping, however, seriously stamping
would be after I took an art class at a friend's house and we stamped Christmas
cards
.

How long have you been on the ODBD
DT?

I have been with ODBD since the beginning, if not sooner.  I
have known Kelley, the owner, for several years now. Our boys went to school
together and played sports together.

How would you describe your
"style"?

My style is " anything but plain"
hence the name of my blog!  I do believe I am an old hippie at
heart.

What was the first stamp you ever bought?

I can't remember the first stamp I ever bought...I think it may
have been a Christmas stamp.

Describe the "weirdest" stamp you
have.

The weirdest stamp..hmmm ...might be one I
have that says..."It's your birthday, time to iron your face again"
ha ha ha-----  or I do have another one of a fat man doing the
splits!

What is your favorite
technique?

I probably don't have a favorite technique cuz I like them
all.

What is your favorite or most used tool?
(Other than the basics: adhesive, scissors,
etc.)

My most used tool changes periodically...right now it is
punches!

What inspires you in your
stamping?

Every day
experiences inspire me to stamp.  But I love to look at everyone's work to
get inspired also.

What is one of the top items on your
stamping wish list?
A top item on my stamp list right now could be a
Wizard,..I have one on order!  I also would like some
more Copics!

What is one food you couldn't live
without?
One food I
could not live without would be my morning latte...my friends will testify to
that!

(Jane tells us that Kelley carries a package of hot chocolate with her to put in her morning coffee!)

Is there a song title that reflects your
personality?
Any song by Carly Simon reflects my personality...her stories are
awesome.

Do you have any friends that understand
your addiction?  (Other than your stamping friends that live in the
computer)

My best friend understands my stamping addiction...that would be
my husband.

Anything you'd like
to tell about yourself or stamping that I haven't asked?

I love ALL art and I always have.  It is an awesome
release for me and I just can't seem to get enough!  My Faith is what keeps
me going first and foremost and I thank God I can enjoy what I do because of Him....

I can certainly testify to the whole "morning Latte" thing - WOW!
Definitely a true statement~!

Here are a couple of my favorite cards that Jane has made:September_00821st_anniv_jpeg_wm

You can see more of Jane's wonderful creations at her blog, Anything But Plain Jane, at her ODBD Card Gallery, and at her SCS Gallery!

Flashback Friday Favorites - Lord's Prayer

The Lord's Prayer...words that unite us as they were taught by Jesus to His disciples and is the basic prayer for all Christians.  Our Daily Bread designs wouldn't be the company that it is if Jesus' teachings about the importance of honoring God above all else were not celebrated as a single stamp.

How beautiful it is to recite these words daily and to see them on your projects as a testament to your Christian beliefs!

DT Card of the Day - Angel Wilde!

Today's featured DT card is from our super sweet Angel!  Applause!  Applause!  Everybody do the wave!  The crowd goes "WILDE" (LOL!  Yes, I had to do that!).  Let's settle down and take a gander at this beauty:

Serenity_Tri_Fold copy

This beautiful card is a favorite because the tri-fold gives us three wonderful panels for our eyes to absorb.  The tan against the turquoise is so clean and crisp and highlights the scripture from the Keep My Lamp Burning set and Serenity prayer exquisitely.  We love all the little details, from the dry embossing to the piercing to the pearl-centered flower and distressing.  Did you notice the subtle stamping of the flowers from the Sing To The Lord set?  Angel pulled out all the stops in this one!

Thank you for all your hard work, Angel!

Take the time to make your way to Angel's blog and galleries:
