Hello everyone! It's Tuesday, the day we spend time with one of our Design Team Members! Today, we're visiting with Sandee. She has a gorgeous little project to share with us!
Good morning! I wanted to share something a little different with you today. I have been participating in a monthly Artist Trading Card group for quite a while now and I really wanted to show you how Our Daily Bread designs stamps can be used for this type of project as well as cards and other projects.
ATC's are the size of a playing card (2 1/2 by 3 1/2) and are not meant to be sold; they are only to be traded with fellow artists. It's very important to sign and date your artwork before trading. It's also a great way to recycle! For the backs of my cards, I used cardboard from packaging. In the group that I trade with, the hostess chooses a recording artist and the participants choose a song title by that artist and make an ATC based on only the title of the song. September's artist is Neil Diamond and I chose the song "Simply Amazing Grace!" This was a perfect opportunity to use the ODBD's Amazing Grace Collection! I randomly stamped the Amazing Grace Hymn onto some beige designer paper, sponged it with ODBD Terra Cotta Ink and sprayed it with Gold Glimmer Mist. I punched blue coordinating designer paper with Martha's Lacy Border punch and sprayed with more glimmer mist. I used VersaMark Ink to stamp the dogwood flower and the word grace from Grow in Grace set, then heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I cut these pieces out and attached them with foam tape, glue and my Xyron sticker maker. I heat embossed more gold around the edges of the card. Then I added the little Martha's punched Butterflies and gold pearls and gold organdy ribbon. I really enjoy working with this smaller canvas. ATC's are fun and allow you to expand your creativity. I hope you have enjoyed this post today and maybe you will be inspired to join a swap and see what others will share with you! I hope you all have a fantastic day! Thanks for stopping by!

Thank you Sandee! These little ATC's sure do look like a lot of fun and a great way to collect a big variety of styles and ideas! Be sure to visit Sandee's Blog

It's that time again... time to say goodbye but also time to say hello and a Big Welcome!
First let me thank our Guest Designer for Aug. and Sept., Loretta Lock! Loretta is extremely talented and we all just want to thank her for her contribution to the Our Daily Bread designs team these past months! Loretta... we will be stalking your blog and gallery so this is not goodbye... just see you later!!! Thanks for all you have contributed here! Your work is amazing!!! God bless you in your new venture as you begin teaching in school again! We know He has you in the palm of His hand and has great things in store for you!
It is also with sadness that we say goodbye to Design Team member Jane Wetzel. Jane has been serving in the Bread Basket for some time now and has decided to change directions a bit, and take a rest. Her talent and good humor have meant a lot to us! We aren't going to lose track of her either, for she'll still be blogging and we plan frequent visits!
Now, that's enough of the sad stuff already!!!
We have a couple happy announcements to make as well! First, our Guest Designer for September, Dawn Lusk is going to stay with us for October and November! Yay! She needs no introduction, as you have been following her work I'm sure! Dawn... thanks for hanging around a little longer! We so appreciate you, your talent and your totally fun personality!!! We even love your Llamas!!! LOL!
Now our BIG NEW announcement is our NEW Guest Designer for October and November.... Deborah Southard!!! On SCS you know her as Debils, and if you have been part of the challenge chasers (stalkers) you know her well! What a joy it's been for me to get to know Debi a little better! Her story will bless your heart!
I recently asked her a few questions to help you get to know her better... and here is how it went:
Q - How long have you been stamping and how did you get started in this hobby?
A - I was first introduced to stamping in 2002 during a domonstration at my MOPS group. I didn't really make anything of note until 2005, when I started lurking on Split Coast Stampers. I then began doing the challenges and as my skills improved, I found the courage to start a gallery, then later a blog.
Q - How would you describe your style?
A - Clean and fairly simple. I rely on great colors, simple design and basic embellishments.
Q - What are your two favorite tools?
A - Definitely sponges and my tweezers (I can't tie ribbon without them!)
Q - What's your favorite coloring medium?
A - Prismacolor or Lyra pencils with OMS and blending stumps.
Q - What's your favorite ODBD set?
A - Keep My Lamp Burning.
Q - Do you have a favorite Scripture you'd like to share?
A - I know this will sound like an odd choice, but one of my favorite Scriptures is Jeremiah 31, specifically verses 15 - 17. I found great comfort in these verses during a very dark time in my life. I held onto them like a promise when two of my foster children, that we had agreed to adopt, were returned to their birth family after living with us for 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 years. Thirteen months later they were returned to us, along with a bonus third. It took several more years but all three children are now a permanent part of our family.
vs. 15 This is what the LORD says: "A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because her children are no more."
vs. 16 This is what the LORD says: "Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded" declares the LORD. "They will return from the land of the enemy".
vs. 17 "So there is hope for your future" declares the LORD. "Your children will return to their own land".
Wow!!! THAT is an amazing story and what a great Scripture to draw your hope from! I hope this little interview has given you some insights into what a special lady Debi is! Here are a couple of her wonderful cards for your enjoyment!
Now to gain more inspiration, and to find out more about these two cards, why don't you stop by Debi's Blog and while you're there, give her some love and welcome her to the Bread Basket!
Having done FFF posts for several months now, it is hard to believe that we've come full circle and reached the One Year Anniversary sets of Our Daily Bread designs, Scripture Collection 1 and Scripture Collection 2:
Grace is not just our new Design Team Coordinator, she's also one terrifically talented stamper! Just take a gander at this scrumptious card:
Do you see what I see? The card! The card, in all it's glory! The dry embossing, heat embossing, masking, highlighting, Spellbinder Lattice Pendant. So many details done so elegantly but not so much as to overpower the softly embossed dragonfly from the Friendship set.

Today we are spending time with Our Daily Bread Design Team Member, Chris. Chris is so talented and puts so many details into her cards and projects... I just know you will love this project! So here is what Chris has for us today!
"Since so many people have begun their Christmas cards
and projects, I thought it would be nice for me to share a card and
project using one of my favorite stamp sets from Our Daily Bread
Designs Christmas line: Angel.
The card I recently made for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Sketch
Challenge. After creating the card, I thought it would be nice to make
a coordinating project to go with it for a gift during the Christmas
holidays. I have always loved to make projects but never had the
opportunity to make a project using a paint can
l. I just love tins and have seen so many awesome projects using these
cans. At Christmas time there are just so many small gifts that you
give out to teachers, Sunday School teachers,
friends, neighbors, and etc. These little painting cans are perfect
for putting in little goodies like cookies or candy, etc.
I covered the can with SU Ski Slope paper and then embellished it with ric rac, ribbon, punched snowflakes and my angel image which I colored with watercolors and prisma color pencils
and gamsol. The wings are glittered with stickles. The ribbons tied
on the handle are a bunch or ribbon scraps that I have saved.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Angel from Our Daily Bread Designs
Paper: SU Ski Slope, Baja Breeze, Metallic Silver, White Glitter paper from K&Co., White CS
Accessories: Silver Baubles, Offray Blue Ribbon, Vintage Corner Dies from Cuttlebug, Scalloped and Regular Circles from Spellbinders, sewing machine
Paint Can Recipe:
Stamps: Angel from Our Daily Bread Designs
Paper: SU Ski Slope (retired), White Glitter CS, Sky Blue CS, White CS
Accessories: Paint Can, Oval Spellbinders, Circle Spellbinders, ric rac, ribbon scraps, Martha Stewart Snowflake Punch"
Thanks so much Chris! I know that I for one LOVE this beautiful set! What a gorgeous image and beautiful details!!!
For lots more inspiration, why not hop on over to Chris' Blog now and see all she has for you there!
Thanks for spending this time with Chris! Have a blessed week!

I'm not going to make you wait...go ahead and take all this loveliness in now....
Isn't the lime green simply FAB-U-LUCIOUS?! What I adore about it is how she stamped the butterfly and scripture from the Thinking of You and Friendship sets on white and not matting it which allowed it to "pop" from the background paper. The swirls on the butterflies are prefect for pearl and/or gem accents and Sabrina instantly knew that!
Thank you for the lush greenery, Sabrina! We can't wait to see more of your ODBD creations!

Dawn Lusk was one of the two winners in our recent contest for Guest Designer spots at Our Daily Bread Designs. We are so excited to welcome her to the "Bread Basket"!
She is such a talented Stamper and I have long admired her work! Not only is she talented, but she's sweet and tons of fun! In order to get to know Dawn a little better, I recently asked her a few questions, and here they are:
1. How long have you been stamping and how did you get started in this hobby?
I've been stamping for almost 7 years! One of my daughters had a workshop so I felt obligated to go... you know "it's family"... "I wouldn't even use this stuff"... YEAH RIGHT! I was hooked! The rest is history! LOL!
2. How would you describe your style?
Oh, I don't know, I never know how to answer this question! LOL... I asked a dear friend and she had this to say... you are a colorist and heavily technique oriented... a "purist" of stampers... very little use of preprinted patterned papters and embellishments (lol... not that I don't have this stuff, I just don't reach for it often!)
3. What are your two favorite tools?
Spellbinder's Nestabilities & Cuttlebug
4. What's your favorite coloring medium?
Copics, Reinkers (for water coloring), Prismacolor Pencils
5. What's you favorite ODBD set?
Right now I think I'd have to say "Sing to the Lord" with "On Eagles' Wings" a close second.
6. Do you have a favorite Scripture you'd like to share?
Rom. 8:28
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to his purpose.
We might not understand the why's and wherefores, but if we just leave it in God's hands, we have a perfect rest.
Thank you Dawn! Your favorite Scripture is a wonderful one and such a comfort for all of us! Thank you for spending this time with us and for joining us in the bread basket this month! We are excited to be working with you and look forward to seeing all your great creations!
Just look at this fabulous project Dawn made! It's a pocket card with a vellum window! She used the newly released ODBD set "Get Well". How pretty is that!!!
Be sure to hop on over to Dawn's blog, Dawn... a New Day, and find out all the details on this card as well as browse her other lovely creations!

Many read the Bible on a daily basis. Many others attend church every Sunday. Both teach us God's ways and we learn from the scriptures. Whether we memorize each scripture or hold close only those that deeply touches us, one thing holds true...we are molded by them one way or another. The You Are the Potter set captures that spirit of religious enlightenment.
