Customer Card of the Day - Sabrina aka Cook22

This week's "Customer Card of the Day" belongs to the lovely and talented Irish lass, Sabrina aka Cook22! Congrats, Sabrina!!!

I instantly fell in love with this card because of the gorgeous blue polished stone background, lovely embellished dogwood blossoms, and the clear embossed lighthouse image from Our Daily Bread designs' very first stamp set, "The Light of the World". If THIS card doesn't make you say "Oooh" and "Aaah", then I'm afraid that you may be color-blind!!!

To see more of Sabrina's gorgeous work, check out her Splitcoast gallery, which is full of beauty and creativity! Not only is Sabrina an extremely talented paper artist, you should see what she can do with a camera!!! For page after page of gorgeous photographs of birds, scenery, vacations, etc., check out Sabrina's blog.

Thanks for stopping by today! Stay tuned tomorrow....RELEASE DAY!!! We can't wait to reveal the FOUR awesome new stamp sets!!! Yes, I said FOUR!!!!

Once again, big congrats to Sabrina! Have a blessed day, everyone!!

Tuesday Time With Grace, a sad goodbye and a happy hello!

Hello everyone!  Today being Tuesday, it's our "Time With" day and it's my turn to share a project with you, but before I do that I want to take this opportunity to thank our Feb. and March Guest Designer, Chelsea Cook!  Chelsea has done an awesome job during her term here and has blessed us with her sweet Christian heart and spirit.  If you have not done so yet, please stop by her blog, Wait for the Lord Cards and check out the ministry she has with her cards!

While it's always hard to say goodbye.... it's also a happy time because we welcome a new Guest Designer,  Randi Barrett!  Many of you already know Randi and the more you know her, the more you will love her!  Randi will be with us in the bread basket for April and May!  Please welcome her and check out her blog, Randi's A New Creation as well!

This Tuesday,  I wanted to share a little project with you for my "Time With" spot.  With Easter almost upon us, I thought you might like a quick project idea that not only makes a beautiful presentation for an Easter Gift, but also gives a most wonderful message!  Who could resist this pretty box filled with some yummy Easter treats?  Here is my project:

I covered this  chipboard cross box with yummy shimmery designer paper from SEI (Chocolate).  It is a silvery paper with little gold sanded lines throughout.  It's so elegant!  I decorated it with the March release Our Daily Bread designs set  Easter Blessings (the Lily of the Valley) and The Lord has Risen (the sentiment).  I used the Spellbinders Fancy Tags which I sponged with Brilliance Platinum Planet Ink.  It really gives it a shine.  To make the Fancy Tag longer for the vertical panel I cut it and taped it to the back of the horizontal panel so it would better fill the cross. I then adhered them to the box with foam dots to give more dimension.  The Lily of the Valley is watercolored and then cut out, and sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Pearl for LOTS of shimmer! I added some white ribbon to the bottom of the flower.

For the side of the lid, I added some self adhesive paper ribbon from K&Co.  This little box holds 6 large Truffles.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Please be sure to stop back on April 1 for a new release and a lot of fun for all!!!  Check it out right here at the Our Daily Bread designs blog on the first!

Meantime, I'd love to have you stop by my blog and see what else I have been up to!  I have a little sneaky peeky for you if you just can't wait for Thursday!

Have a blessed day!

Time With Connie

Hello everyone!!!  Where did this weekend go?  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Since it's Tuesday, it's time to spend time with another of our very talented Design Team members, and today we're spending time with Connie!  Isn't this the prettiest card?  Here is Connie's explanation on how she created this beauty!

Hello all!! Today, I decided to create a card using some Tim Holtz Alcohol inks!! I just love playing with alcohol inks!! My mixture for behind the verse and the card background uses a bit of Meadow, Lettuce, Denim, and Silver mixative. Love how it can create a polished stone look on some Glossy white paper!!

Once the ink was dry, I heat embossed both the Vine border and the verse, which is from the Scripture collection 3 set released last week! To embellish the card I added a layered cross from the Spellbinder's Cross Collection. I then paper pierced a border around the card, added some black brads and light green crystal gems. To finish it off I added a bit of black ribbon.

Thanks so much for visiting today! I hope you have a wonderful day!!

Connie

Card Details:Images: Scripture 3, Vine Border
Paper: Shimmery Green paper, Glossy White, Basic Black
Inks: Versamark, Meadow, Lettuce, Denim Alcohol Inks
Accessories: Paper Piercer, Spellbinders Cross Collection, Light Green Gems and Brad, Black Brads, Black Satin Ribbon

Thank you Connie!  That alcohol ink sure makes a vivid and fabulous look!  Thanks for the inspiration!

For a chance to see what else Connie has been up to, please visit her blog!  It's sure to please!

Thank you all for stopping by today!  Have a most blessed week!

Product Review - Tattered Angels Chip Tiles

Okay....how many of you have purchased Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist and have not used it yet because you don't know what to do with it or how to use it? I see you shaking your head "yes" right now!! Do not be intimidated any longer!!! Not only do the light colors of Glimmer Mist create a beautiful finishing touch for your cards and projects, but I will show you below how to get some use out of all of those gorgeous colors of Glimmer Mist as well, using the Tattered Angels Chip Tiles! These Chip Tiles can be used as covers for mini-scrapbooks, to embellish your scrapbook pages, to make wall hangings, bookmarks, and much more. Each tile is 4" x 7" and has raised embossed images on one side. Our Daily Bread designs carries three different styles....Nature, Regal, and Traveler. There are six different images in each package, so you have a wide variety of uses.

For this week's Product Review, I have chosen to make two different notebook holders, using the Zutter Bind-It-All. The first step is to punch through the front and back Chip Tiles with the Bind-It-All. I chose to punch the top of the Chip Tile, but another option is to punch the sides, such as Kelley's gorgeous Glimmer Book, shown HERE.

Next, I unrolled the Tattered Angels Misting Mat, which covers a 20" x 30" area, since I will be spraying heavy amounts of Glimmer Mist. And always have a few paper towels handy as well.

HELPFUL HINT: ALWAYS shake your Glimmer Mist from side to side instead of up and down, so that the glimmer material inside does not clog up your sprayer. If clogging occurs, clean and unclog sprayer with warm water. Shake the bottle well before each use....which means every time you pick the bottle up, even during the same session. For adding a little shimmer to your cards, hold your card out at least 12 inches away....spray the Glimmer Mist once to remove any air bubbles (which cause splatters), then spray in a sweeping motion across your project. (If you use the "direct hit" method, it is likely that you will get splotches of Glimmer instead of an even shimmer.)

I started off saturating the Chip Tile with Copper Glimmer Mist...the more you spray, the more glimmer you will get, especially where it "puddles". Use paper towels to clean the excess from the Misting Mat....you can always use those glimmered paper towels later to make home-made flowers!!!

The next step is to choose one of the Glimmer Screen Templates....since I am using the "Traveler" Chip Tiles, I am using the Glimmer Screens that match. The next color I used was Olive Vine and sprayed over the Glimmer Screen, holding the screen in place with Tattered Angels tweezers. Since the screen was wet with Glimmer Mist, I carefully picked it up, turned it upside down and "stamped" with it on the opposite corner.

This photo shows the lighter copper image created by the Glimmer Screen.

After spraying more Olive Vine and Graphite randomly here and there, I let the Chip Tiles dry for a couple of hours. (This photo shows front and back covers.) After the Glimmer Mist was dry, I placed the Glimmer Screen back over the images and sponged over the screens like a stencil with Ranger Fired Brick Distress Ink, to intensify the image. The edges of the tiles and the embossed images were also sponged for added depth.

To demonstrate how much "oompf" the sponging gives to the glimmered tiles, here is a photo of my second book, on which I used the "Flight of Fancy Birds" Glimmer Screens. This image is after Glimmer, but BEFORE sponging.

Notice the dramatic difference from the image above. The sponging really makes it pop!!

Here is the front and back view of the book made with the "Traveler" Chip Tiles, embellished with Zva Pearls, May Arts Ribbon, Spellbinders Nestabilities, and a verse from the new Scripture Collection 3 set. The Glimmer Mist colors used for this project are: Mimosa, Vintage Pink, Deep Plum, Olive Vine, and Copper.

This is the front and back views of the book made using the "Traveler" Chip Tiles and matching Glimmer Screens. The chipboard letters are from Tattered Angels "Framed Fonts". To see Lorelie's tutorial on Tattered Angels Framed Fonts, click HERE. For embellishments, I added only May Arts Ribbon, so not to cover up all of the gorgeous glimmer!! The Glimmer Mist colors I used for this book are: Copper, Olive Vine, and a little Graphite.

See, wasn't that easy?! Sure, Glimmer Mist can be a little messy at times, but it sure is fun to experiment and add layers upon layers for the most beautiful backgrounds. Don't forget to use it on your designer paper, on ribbon, silk flowers, and so on!!

So, head over to Our Daily Bread designs now and fill your cart with plenty of "Glimmer" supplies!!! Start using your Glimmer Mist today.....you will fall in love, I promise!! All Tattered Angels products are the Super Special Sales Items of the week, 15% off until Saturday, March 27 at midnight EST. (Sale prices will be reflected in your shopping cart.)

Thanks for stopping by today!!! Have a blast getting "glimmerized"!!!!
God Bless!!
