Time with Becca!

I am filling in for Grace today. You may have read on her BLOG that her dear father-in-law passed away on Saturday. Please pray for Grace and her family.

Today we visit with Becca, who as always has a feast for our eyes!
Blessings, Kelley

I have a Starbucks Card to give as a gift for a dear friend of mine and while I was getting it, my gaze wandered over the cardboard cozy holders that you get at both Starbucks and I found out later, Panera Bread. At first I was going to decorate one of the cozy holders and put the gift card inside but then it grew into a book :-) For the decoration I settled on the wonderful Scripture Sets (Set 1, Set 2, Set 3, Set 4 and Series 1) from Our Daily Bread Designs. Below you can see the brown from my gift card peeking out from the first page.

I started out by punching holes in the cozies. Then I decided I wanted a panel that was three inches wide. Each panel wraps down the front side with the fold at the bottom and up the backside with the open ends tucked in a glued at the top. What this does is make a pocket so that I can put something extra inside each page.

I decorated each page back and front with coordinating paper and border punches and stamped Scripture using Scriptures Sets 1,2,3,4 and Scriptures Series 1 onto panels cut with my Slice.

I tucked one more scripture in the pocket of each page. I put a tab on each tucked in page so that it can easily be removed.

..
To finish up, I took one of the cozies for a cover. I hid the Panera logo and added a ribbon just to make it a little bit dressy! It was not a complicated project at all and once done I was a littlle bit proud of the recycling I did. I hope my friend likes it.

Project Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Scripture Sets 1, 2, 3, 4 and Scripture Series 1
Paper: K&Company, Bazzill
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossing powder
Accessories: Slice, Tab Punch, Coffee Cup Cozies, Martha Stewart Border Punches, Binder Rings, Ribbon, Pearls

Product Review - Smart Cushion Stamps

This week's Product Review is to explain the wonderful benefits of the "Cling Cushion" or "Smart Cushion" which is the backing on all of the stamp sets from Our Daily Bread designs. Most stampers I know "cut their teeth", if you will, on wood-mounted stamps, myself included. Until I used the Cling Cushion stamps by Our Daily Bread designs, I was pretty stubborn about using any stamp which did not have a "tree" attached to it. However, in this case, change was definitely for the better! All that's needed for the "conversion" is an open mind and an acrylic stamping block.....or perhaps a few of different sizes, for convenience sake!

Each stamp set by Our Daily Bread designs comes in a clear acrylic box, with an insert showing the stamps included, plus the name of the set. The stamps themselves cling to a sturdy, clear acrylic sheet within the box. While I store my ODBD stamps (in their boxes) in a DVD storage unit, many have converted them to storage units used for clear stamps or un-mounted wooden stamps, either in 3-ring binders or carousel type storage units. Since the stamps will cling to any smooth surface, the storage possibilities are endless!

Here is a close-up view of the cling-foam cushion backing. What I think is amazing is how well the stamps adhere to the acrylic blocks (or storage sheets), however, they are NOT sticky to the touch...there is absolutely no adhesive whatsoever on the back of the stamp and absolutely no adhesive needed to attach the stamp to the acrylic block!

Here is a side view of the stamp, showing the high-quality rubber stamp, plus the cushion foam layer which ensures an excellent stamped image every time.

Once you press the stamp onto your block, it will not move. If your stamp loses its "clingy-ness", simply wipe the backing with a wet cloth and it will be good as new!

**Helpful hint: Since the stamps are cut closely around each verse or image, when positioning the stamps on your acrylic block, line the words up parallel with the edge of the block to ensure that your image is stamped straight. Of course, you could always use your Stamp-a-ma-jig stamp positioner too!

This is a sample card which was made using the "Light" set, first in the "Full Of Grace" line by Our Daily Bread designs. Thanks for letting me share the benefits of the "Cling Cushion" stamps by Our Daily Bread designs! Give them a try.....you will love them as much as I do!!!

This week, instead of having a Super Special Sale item, Kelley has generously offered to discount your stamp purchases! Please enter the applicable coupon code shown below during your checkout, to receive either $5.00 or $20.00 off of your stamp order! Now would be a good time to check off some sets from your wish list....or perhaps get a head start on your holiday shopping season!!! (While you're at it, don't forget to pick up one or two acrylic blocks!)

Have fun playing with your new ODBD stamps! Can't wait to see what you create!! Happy Stamping and God Bless!!!

Flashback Friday Favorites - Fishers of Men

Happy Friday, everyone!!! Time for another Flashback Friday Favorite! This week's featured classic set is "Fishers of Men"......a long-time favorite for making masculine cards.....Lord knows we all need ideas for those!

The scripture verse from Mark has always reminded me to think about the "bigger picture", which is all about sharing the Good News. We get so caught up in the busy-ness of life, or the "small fish", and forget what our real duty is. Follow Him first and the rest will fall into place!

The scripture verse from Psalm 55 is another lesson most of need to learn.....we tend to carry all of life's burdens on our own, forgetting that He has offered to carry them for us.

These two powerful verses alone are a perfect reason to own this set, but let's not forget about the incredibly detailed fishing creel image, plus the two fishing lures and a "stamped by" image for the back of your projects. What's not to love about this set?!

Check out the awesome Design Team samples below from the Our Daily Bread designs' card gallery, using the "Fishers of Men" set:

Aren't these samples fantastic? For more inspiration and gorgeous projects for "Fishers of Men" and all of the ODBD stamp sets, please visit the ODBD Card Gallery.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please feel free to leave comments or suggestions. We love to hear from you!

Have a very blessed weekend! See you next time!

Time with Julie

I hope y'all had a wonderful summer and if you're like me, you're looking forward to fall and (hopefully) some cooler temperatures. Has it been extra hot this summer, or what?? With that in mind, I created this Fall Wreath card. To me, fall colors and images are so vibrant and beautiful. These sunflowers just said 'make a wreath' to me, so I did. I used both the Happy Fall and the Harvest Blessings sets. What really made this card so much easier, are the exclusive, matching dies for both of these sunflower images! I stamped a bunch of the single sunflower and a couple of the sunflower bunch, then die cut them quick as you please! I added some cut out wheat from the Our Daily Bread set and I used the Ironworks Borders to add a little detail on the white layer behind the wreath. The sentiment was die cut using Spellbinder's Fancy Tags. A few more layers were added then it was all attached to a 5 1/2" square white card. The designer paper is Basic Grey, Green at Heart. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please stop by my blog for all the how to and supply lists.
