Product Review - New Flower Soft Kits!

Hi everyone!!! Flower Soft has done it again! They have recently released some brand new products which Kelley has just added to the Our Daily Bread designs store! Hang tight...this post may get a little long, but I promise it will be worth your while!!! :)

The first product I would like to share is Flower Soft's new "Die Cut Dimensions - Wild Flowers"! I am so thrilled with these and can't wait until they come out with more! Each package comes with two each of four gorgeous floral designs....for a total of 16 cards. All of the pieces are die-cut...which I love, love, love!!! Each kit includes the dimensional topper, extra die cut flowers for embellishments, and a beautiful strip of paper ribbon! I'll demonstrate below how easy these are to use:

First, pop out all of the die cut pieces of the kit you would like to use. Good luck choosing....all of the kits are gorgeous!!!

To give the flowers some extra dimension (this is optional), I turned over the topper and placed it on my foam paper-piercing pad. Using an embossing stylus, I lightly bowed out the paper blossoms by rubbing the stylus in a circular motion in the center of each flower section. I also embossed the extra flower pieces in the same manner.

Next, I turned the topper over, and using a paper piercer, bent each die-cut flower piece upward....this creates the 3d look for your finished project.

I used some of the extra flowers to create a bouquet as an embellishment, but you could also "beef up" the card topper as well. Other items used for my sample: the sentiment is from a new March set, "Eternity", which will be released on March 1st. The crocheted ribbon is May Arts, the Pearls are by Zva Creative, and there are several sprays of my fave "Pearl" Glimmer Mist.

Here is a close up which shows more of the dimension from the die cut flower sections with a little bit of Baby Blue Flower Soft added. P.S. The butterfly was punched from a leftover piece of the paper ribbon which was included in the kit!

Next up is another awesome new kit, the "Lavender Papercraft Kit"! There are two sheets each of four different designs.....each sheet has MANY different project possibilities. These images are not die cut like the dimensional set above, however, they are compatible with Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals and Spellbinders Labels Seven cutting dies! How cool is that?!

Once again, the decision is tough....there are so many choices in each kit.....once I decided which to use, it was a total blast, and pretty quick! I chose another new March release, "He Will Rise" to stamp on the card topper layered with Spellbinders Classic Ovals and Classic Scalloped Ovals, added some Lavender Flower Soft, Zva Creative pearls, May Arts Satin Ribbon, tied with a Bow Easy, and "Pearl" Glimmer Mist for a shimmery finish.
Here comes yet another awesome card-topper kit.....this one is called "Country-Village"....each package includes two each of four different scenes plus sentiments on each page. Each design has an additional partial layer to cut out and pop up for dimension. Add your favorite Flower Soft and voila!!

This sample was so much fun to make....I couldn't resist but create a village from three of the four designs. Each topper was cut out, layered on cardstock, holes punched with a cropodile, and ribbon connected them together.

For this section, I used one of the sentiments from the "Tulip Tag Set", which will be released on March 1st, along with Lavender and Shamrock Green Flower Soft.

For the center section, I used the scripture verse from the "Tulip Tag Set", along with the following Flower Soft colors: Ultra-Fine Citrus Crush, Strawberry, Earth, and regular Flower Soft: Violet.

The third section includes a sentiment from the "Daffodil Tag Set", to be released on March 1st, along with Flower Soft colors: Ultra-Fine Raspberry Fizz and regular Flower Soft Shamrock Green.

Here is another lovely kit, which I haven't had time to play with yet, called "Country-Village Cottages". This kit also includes two each of four images plus a 3d section and sentiments as well. These toppers are so beautiful, you really don't have to be a Flower Soft pro in order to create a gorgeous card or gift for someone! A few specks of Flower Soft and you're ready to go!

Whew, are you still with me!? Last but not least, Flower Soft has just introduced some neon colors in the Ultra-Fine line! What is Ultra-Fine, you ask? It's the same formula as the original Flower Soft sprinkles, but smaller particles for a less "fibrous" look. Though I have not tried these neon colors yet, they are absolutely stunning and make the most marvelous fireworks for your patriotic cards, or cover some chipboard flowers or letters for your favorite teenager's birthday card! Very fun!!

Thanks so much for sticking with me! I really, really enjoyed working with the new Flower Soft products and can't wait to do it again! If you'd like to try some of the new kits, or any items from the Flower Soft line, head over to the Our Daily Bread designs store, where you will find a variety of Flower Soft colors, card toppers, and lots of fun accessories to help take your crafting to another level! Better yet......all Flower Soft products are the Super Special Sale Items this week, 15% off until Saturday, March 5th at midnight EST. (Sale price will be reflected in your shopping cart.) Can't wait to see your Flower Soft creations!!! If you are new to Flower Soft and need some helpful instructions, please check out some previous tutorials here, here, here, and here.

ODBDSLC50 Sketch-March/ April Guest Designer

Thanks to everyone who participated in the "Over Stamping" challenge last week!! We had so many participants!!! We so enjoyed viewing the many beautiful creations and had such a difficult time choosing who to spotlight this week. Wow!! So much talent and inspiration!!!

Before we go on to this week's challenge, I would like to announce and welcome Pat Smethers as one of our full-time Challenge Team designers.  Pat is so sweet and adds an eclectic style to our creations.  Welcome Pat!!!!

I would also like to introduce our new guest designer for March/April.  This young lady has been an active player in our challenges and does a beautiful job with her ODBD Stamps!!  Welcome Lori Ulrich from Saints Rule!!  We can't wait to have you join us next week!!!

Here is a little intro about Lori:

My name is Lori Ulrich.  My husband and I share our small Kentucky farm with 4 beautiful St. Bernards and 3 handsome English Shephards.  We also raise sheep and have a retired racehorse living on our place to mix it up a little!  As you can imagine life is never dull here on our little slice of heaven!  My oldest step-son and his family live less than 20 minutes away!  So I get to see all 5 grandbabies often!  Our youngest is attending university in Virginia completing his Master’s in Missions.

When I’m not stamping, I work as an accountant with a utility company.  I first discovered scrapbooking in 2003 and it proved very therapeutic for me.  A dear friend suggested stamping in 2009 which I took to like a duck does to water!  Stamping has proved to be such a blessing for me and a very powerful outreach.  I try to spread God’s love to those who are ill, need cheering up or a hearty hello!  I happened upon Our Daily Bread Designs in 2009 and instantly became a fan.  I love being able to share God’s word with those who receive my cards.  I appreciate the opportunity to guest for a few months.  It’s always fun to create!  Blessings…

And now on to our challenge!!!
