Product Review - Border Stamp Sets!

Happy Monday, everyone! Welcome to Anniversary Week at Our Daily Bread designs! Thursday, March 17 is ODBD's third anniversary and we have some fun stuff planned for this week, so stay tuned!!!

Each year, to celebrate our anniversary, the Design Team gals (otherwise known as "The Breadsticks") were allowed to choose their favorite verse to be made into a stamp....this is how the Scripture Collection sets came to be. Our first anniversary release was Scripture Collection 1 and Scripture Collection 2; our second anniversary release was Scripture Collection 3 and Scripture Collection 4. This year there will be three awesome new scripture sets, however, you will have to wait for the New Release post on Thursday to see them! ( I know....what a tease!!!) It will be worth your wait, I promise!!

What better way to frame your scripture stamps than with a beautiful border? In 2010, Our Daily Bread designs released six awesome border sets, not only to frame the Scripture Collection verses, but most of ODBD's stamps (and images) will fit as well! They work well combined with Spellbinder dies to create some beautiful layers, stamp them for an interesting border for tags, decorate your journaling boxes for your layouts can even stamp them directly onto your designer paper! The samples below will show you how versatile they can be!

First up today are the "Fleur de Lis Borders". There are three elegant border stamps and two flourishes. The border stamps have "breaks" in the design so that you can adjust the size depending on your up one corner at a time to fit your needs. Hopefully you have a Stamp-a-ma-jig (stamp positioner) in your stamping bag, which will help you line them up right where you want them.

This beautiful sample of the "Fleur de Lis Borders" is by Chris Olsen. The border stamped in blue gives elegant, subtle support to the scripture verse focal point.

Next up is the "Brocade Borders" set, which includes two intricate frame stamps and a matching flourish. Not only are these border stamps totally gorgeous, but even better, the "Brocade Borders Die Set" (set of two, sold separately) was customized to cut out these images "fussy cutting" necessary!

Grace Nywening shows us here how to think outside of the box with the "Brocade Borders" set by using 2-1/2 of the same image to create the elegant cross. Isn't this amazing?!

This set, "Flower Frames", is the first of two floral border sets. There are two beautiful border stamps and two matching flourishes, all with a slightly bolder stamp impression. These border stamps may also be stamped in sections to adjust your framing size.....or create a lovely border using the flourishes.

This awesome sample by Randi Barrett shows us that you don't have to layer a mat around these borders, but she created her own mat with distressing and ink....doesn't the "Flower Frames" border look gorgeous in brown?

"Flower Frames 2" was designed with some of the larger scripture stamps in mind. I love the intricate details of the flowers and swirls, plus the two matching flourishes are beautiful as well.

My sample using "Flower Frames 2" shows you that all of the border sets are not only for your scripture verses, but you can also frame your ODBD image stamps as well!!

The "Ironworks Borders" set includes three gorgeous frame stamps, with less swirls and more details as you would see in antique ironwork. Less frills, but still elegant!

Julie Warner's gorgeous sample features two of the three borders from the "Ironworks Borders" set. One stamp was used as the background frame, and the second was stamped on the Spellbinder Labels Four layer above and below the scripture panel.....very clever!

Last but not least is the "Vine Borders" set, which includes three gorgeous frame stamps...different sizes to fit your needs. I love to color the little flowers on the floral frame; the swirly vines on the second are more subtle and delicate, and I love the frills combined with the square lines of the corners on the bottom image.

Just as some of the other samples have shown "different" ways to use these awesome border sets, Patter Cross shows us with her "Vine Borders" sample here that the sections of the border stamps may be cut out and used as decorative elements on their own! I love how the Spellbinders Blossom die was completely transformed with the corners of the "Vine Borders" stamp!!! Very cool, Patter!

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you enjoyed the "refresher course" on the border sets!
