Daisies for you by Cindy Coutts

Happy Tuesday all!!  I hope you all had a great weekend...especially those in the USA celebrating the holiday weekend.  Today we would like to share a creation and post by Cindy Coutts.  Cindy, has been our guest for the last two months and we thank her for all the inspiration she shared with us!! Today is her last post as a guest designer.  It was a pleasure having you as a guest,  Cindy!!  We appreciate you sharing your talent and love for the Lord. Thank you!!

Now on to Cindy's Creation:

Good morning. This is Cindy Coutts again with my last post as the guest designer for Our Daily Bread Designs for April and May, I decided to make you a virtual card. I've had a lot of fun and hope that you have too. I'd also like to thank Kelley and the team for having me :)

My card was one of those cards that you work on for 2 weeks. I had the Daisy image done and forgot about it and colored another image from Ask, Seek, Knock, then I found my Daisy image! I decided to finish making both cards.

The Daisy card is for fun, but the image from Ask, Seek, Knock card has a meaning behind it. The door is colored red to signify the blood that Christ shed on the cross for us. While I was coloring this, I also though it would make a great passover card if you colored the door in slate shades, much like the houses of Israel during that time period, and swiped some red on top of the door. In the two months of seriously being able to dive into my Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, I've discovered that all of the images can be used for something other than the season or scripture the set is paired with. I especially enjoy combining any image with the Quotes, The Blessings Collection, and Scripture Collection sets, which just adds even more versatility. Here's the image that I colored.

My card showcases the Daisy stamp set using a sentiment from Scripture Collection 6. It's your basic A2 size with the opening at the left. I used Authentique Journey for my designer paper and black card stock for the base and Lacy Circle Nestabilities. I colored my image in with various Copic markers outlining the image in a very pale blue. While the Circle Nestabilities was still in the die, I chalked the rest. The sentiment scripture stamp that Becca Feeken chose for Scripture Collection 6 fits perfectly in a 4-1/4 panel with its height. That is just another discovery too of how the images and sentiments are perfectly scaled for card making AND scrapbooking, or anything altered.

I've also been having some serious fun at the Our Daily Bread Designs Forum. It's great fellowship and free. You just sign up and pay $10. That is strictly for spam prevention, and then you get a coupon code emailed back to you to apply to your next purchase! I got a sneak peek of the awesome June 2012 release. There are 6 stamp sets and they are summer themed with a brand new font that I've never seen anywhere. Sweet! You are going to LOVE them all. Get the bundle and save 10-15%. You can't beat that. Come on over and join us at the Our Daily Bread Designs Forum. There is so much going on! I really appreciate the fact that it's a closed forum, it's totally Christ-centered and there's a lot of sisters in Christ in there too! There is so much more on the inside. There's a lot of activity going on!

Remember that I said at the beginning of April how intimidated I was since there was no way I could measure up to the design team? I still don't, but we all "measure up" when we create to glorify the Lord, support the body of Christ, and encourage each other. May the Lord richly bless you as you endeavor to life emulating our Savior.

Thanks so much Cindy!  I hope you all have enjoyed Cindy's project and will leave her a little love here in a comment!  Then pop on over to her blog for more inspiration!

BEAUTIFUL with a MEANINGFUL scripture. Just the reminder I need to read today. Thank you! I am next printing a copy of your card to keep on my desk for a while.
