Bountiful Basket with Flowers Tutorial

Welcome to the ODBD Blog!  Today we are excited to be sharing a tutorial from Design Team Member Dawn Lusk using the new Bountiful Basket die set along with additional ODBD Custom Dies, Stamp Sets and Paper Collections.

Die cut the Bountiful Basket die set and assemble according to the directions.

Glue a piece of floral foam onto the bottom of the basket.

If desired, fill the inside of the basket with crinkly paper.

Die cut the Leaves and Branches and Bitty Blossoms dies from the Plum Pizzazz and Whimsical Wildflowers paper pads. Layer and glue the flowers together as desired, add pearls to flower centers.

Using thin wire, cut lengths about 5 inches long and twist ends together. This will help strengthen the wire when you push it into the foam.

Put a dollop of glue on each side of the wire and add the foliage. Continue until all your foliage is wired.

Cut more wire, about 4-5 inches long and wrap the end several times around a thin paintbrush.

Drop a good-sized dollop of glue on the back of a flower and stick the coiled end of the wire into the glue. Continue until all your flowers have “stems”. Drop a dollop of glue on the end of a leaf, place behind wire stem and place another leaf on top.

Allow drying time for glue. Use a piece of foam to stick the pieces into while you wait. After flowers are dry, you can gently shape them, slightly bending the petals.

Fill your basket and decorate as desired.
